Students at nine Oro Valley schools have additional supplies this school year thanks to an annual program offered by a local law enforcement organization.
Each year, the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 53 donates $250 to each of the nine schools within Oro Valley to be used for school supplies. The Oro Valley Target store contributes an additional $250 per school.
This year’s shopping event took place Sept. 7.
Both private and public schools receive supplies. Private schools are BASIS Charter School, Casas Christian School, Immaculate Heart School and Pusch Ridge Christian Academy.
Public schools are Wilson K-8, Copper Creek and Painted Sky elementary, and Canyon Del Oro and Ironwood Ridge high schools.
