Just after 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, Northwest Fire District, along with the Picture Rocks Fire District responded to the area of Silverbell and Twin Peak Roads after several 911 calls reported a vehicle had left the roadway and rolled several times.

Upon arrival, crews found a male patient, approximately 40 years of age trapped inside the small GMC pick-up truck.

The driver was partially ejected and as a result was trapped under the vehicle. Crews were able to use the Jaws of Life to extricate the trapped victim. He sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries and was flown to the Trauma Center at University Medical Center.

The driver was not wearing the seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Both Marana Police and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department were on at the scene. The Sheriff’s Department will be the investigating agency for the cause of the accident.
