The Oro Valley Police Department (OVPD) and Tucson Police Department (TPD) have made an arrest related to a series of locker break-ins at various LA Fitness and Platinum Fitness gyms.

A Criminal Investigations Unit with the OVPD began investigating the crimes in November after learning thefts had taken place from gyms located in Marana, Tucson, and Pima County, as well as the University of Arizona.

Danielle Bratton, 21, was arrested by the Tucson Police Department on Dec. 13.

During the investigation, authorities had evidence showing that Bratton is allegedly responsible for the thefts. Staff members of LA Fitness and Platinum Fitness locations were notified to be on the lookout for her. Once she was seen entering an LA Fitness on Golf Links Road, employees of the gym called police, who then arrived and took her into custody.

The OVPD Criminal Investigations Unit also arrived on scene, and located several stolen items in Bratton’s possession from Oro Valley victims.

Bratton was booked into the Pima County Jail for violation of probation and additional charges including, six counts of third-degree burglary, two counts of theft of a credit card, one count of fraudulent schemes and artifices, and one count of stolen property.
