On Tuesday, Oct. 2, from 7 to 10 a.m., during the Oro Valley Police Department’s High Visibility Enforcement (HiVE) deployment at the intersections Oracle and Magee roads and Oracle Road and Suffolk Drive, the following took place:Â
47 traffic stops were made
28 of those stops were for moving violations (e.g. running a red light, speeding, failure to yield)
32 drivers received written warnings
3 drivers were cited for moving violations
12 drivers were cited for non-moving violations (e.g. no proof of insurance, expired registration)
0 collisions
The department will continue HiVE efforts over the next 90 days to increase awareness and reduce collisions related to inattention, following too closely and failing to yield to other drivers.
The next dates will be on Oct. 16 from 7 to 10 a.m., and on Oct 17 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the same intersections.
