The women of the American Legion Auxiliary, Oro Valley Unit 132, invite women interested in joining the organization to attend their monthly meeting, scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 15, from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. at California Design Center/Studio C, 11085 N. Oracle Road.

Membership is open to women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces or are the mother, wife, daughter, sister or granddaughter of someone (living or deceased) who served during any period of military conflicts since, and including, World War I.

The American Legion Auxiliary is the world's largest women's patriotic service organization, with nearly one million members. Auxiliary members are a unique group of women joined in the fellowship of volunteerism, patriotism and dedication to veterans, military personnel and their families, and their local communities.

American Legion Auxiliary, Oro Valley Unit 132, is a relatively new unit; its charter was presented May of 2010. Members meet on the third Thursday of each month September to May at the same time and location listed above.

Now it is eager to meet other women who are interested in supporting the military and the community.

For more information, visit www.ovunit132.info or contact unit president Onita Davis at ovunit132@gmail.com or 229-1064.
