An Oro Valley bicyclist died yesterday after being hit by a vehicle while crossing Rancho Vistoso Drive.
On Wednesday, Dec. 28, just before 5 p.m., Oro Valley police and Golder Ranch firefighters responded to the intersection of Rancho Vistoso and Vistoso Highlands drives.
Preliminary investigations show the bicyclist, 84-year-old Harley F. Ostergaad, had crossed Rancho Vistoso Drive at the intersection directly in front of a Sedan that was traveling north on Rancho Vistoso Drive.
Ostergaad was transported to University Medial Center where he was pronounced dead.
The driver, a 77-year-old, is not considered to be at fault, and was not injured in the incident.
