During its “Shop Oro Valley” Summer Campaign from June 1 to July 31, 2012, Oro Valley residents and visitors spending $25 or more at an Oro Valley business were eligible to participate in a weekly gift card drawing, sponsored by more than 30 Oro Valley businesses. Thanks to the generosity of our participating businesses, the Town was able to award 50 prizes such as gift cards and free services.
The campaign culminated in a grand prize drawing for a two-night stay at the Hilton El Conquistador Golf & Tennis Resort, including lunch for two, and a choice of one round of golf for two or two 50-minute custom spa treatments. We’re proud to announce that Oro Valley resident Victoria Kieltuski is our grand prize winner.
During the eight-week campaign, 868 receipts were turned in, for a total of $52,253.74 spent at Oro Valley businesses.
“Sales tax is a major source of revenue for the town,” said Mayor Satish I. Hiremath. “Shopping locally is a direct investment in our community to fund public safety and infrastructure.”
The successful Shop Oro Valley Campaign is the result of a partnership with the Greater Oro Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Explorer Newspaper.
