The Oro Valley Town Council plans to discuss the proposed environmentally sensitive lands ordinance again at its regular meeting on Wednesday. Feb. 16.

The ordinance would apply to biologically significant areas, hillsides, mountainous terrain, cultural resources and scenic resources.

It would revise town zoning regulations concerning density, open space, view sheds, grading, riparian habitats, outdoor lighting and re-vegetation.

The project also has identified the town’s cultural resources.

The town council continued the item in January to allow for more discussion and to give council members the chance to ask town zoning officials questions about the proposal.

The proposed change to Oro Valley zoning code has been under discussion at various times since at least 1996.

The council meets at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 16, in council chambers, 11000 N. La Cañada Drive.
