An eighth-grade student at Tortolita Middle School has won first place in a public service announcement competition of the Arizona Student Film Festival.
Lupita Angeles developed a 30-second film titled “Car Seat Safety,” and entered it into the “Car Seat Safety” PSA category for grades 6-8. As a winner, Angeles’ video was played on the big screen in a Harkins theater in Phoenix on Jan. 17.
This is the third year of the festival’s existence, and it’s the third year that Tortolita Middle School broadcasting students have won first place.
They’re taught by Jay Bertelson.
