A man awaiting trial on first-degree murder charges has been charged with the killing of two more people.
Michael Jonathan Carlson, 53, was charged with the murders of Kenneth Alliman and Rebecca Lou Lofton last week in the Pima County Adult Detention Center.
On June 17, Carlson was arrested in connection with the 2003 murder of his sister, Maria Thoma, whose body was found southeast of Tucson.
After family members reported Alliman and Lofton missing in early June, investigators discovered that Carlson had been living on the couple's west-side property.
Carlson had fled from Texas after violating terms of his parole.
On June 22, homicide investigators discovered human remains believed to belong to Alliman and Lofton on the property located on the 3700 block of North Trico Road.
The remains had been burned in a fire pit on the property.
Carlson also has been charged with kidnapping Alliman and Lofton.
