Pima County Sheriff's Deputies shot and killed a man while responding to a domestic violence call in the Northwest on Saturday, Oct. 2.
The man, identified as 53-year-old Sean B. McCloughan, fired a .44 caliber revolver at two deputies as they searched his home on the 18200 block of West Tucker Road west of Picture Rocks.
The deputies returned fire, killing McCloughan.
"The 12-year-old daughter is the one who called and said her father was attacking her mother," said Dep. Renee Carlson, spokeswoman for the Pima County Sheriff's Department.
McCloughan's partner and daughter had fled the home before deputies arrived.
Deputies involved in the shooting were Dep. Chris Conniff, employed since 2000, and Dep. Daniel Jelineo, on the job since 2005. Both deputies are on administrative leave with pay following the incident and are expected to return to work.
The incident remains under investigation, Carlson said. McLoughan has a prior criminal record.
