The Kiwanis Club of the Desert awarded scholarships totaling $8,000 to four Marana area students last week.
Three of the four students are graduating from Marana High School. Regina Seal received $3,000, with $800 each to Alana Cox and Amanda Urbina.
Paula Rangel of Mountain View High School earned a $3,400 scholarship.
All four students are members of their respective Key Clubs, and have participated in many Key Club and other extracurricular activities. They have also been accepted at a college or university. Kiwanis considers need as prime criteria when selecting scholarship recipients, a release said.
Since 1976, the Desert Kiwanis club has awarded nearly $300,000 to more than 150 students. For more information, call Club President Dr. Scott Mundell at 419-4599.
