The Marana Police Department’s Mobile Command Post will be in the parking lots of the Continental Ranch Neighborhood Park (skateboard park) and the Sunflower Community Center this Saturday, Sept. 11.
The vehicle is parked at Continental Ranch from 10 a.m. to noon, and at Sunflower from noon to 2 p.m.
This event is intended to provide police outreach to a local neighborhood to discuss concerns and issues, and to provide information about emergency preparedness because September is the National Month of Preparedness, a release said.
It’ll rotate among neighborhoods and business areas over the next few months, including Oct. 16 in the Honea Heights-Gladden Farms area, Nov. 29 at Dove Mountain, and Dec. 18 in conjunction with special holiday patrol efforts near the businesses at Ina and Thornydale roads.
A police officer, member of Volunteers in Police Service and the Marana Emergency Response Planner, along with representatives from Citizens’ Emergency Response Team and Marana Health Clinic, have been invited to attend.
