Toiletries and personal items to help the needy in Pima County are being collected this Saturday, Sept. 6, at Splendido, the retirement community in Oro Valley’s Rancho Vistoso neighborhood.
The health drive runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the 13500 N. Rancho Vistoso location. Splendido is offering free tours and brownies to all who donate.
The community is giving the items it collects to the Primavera Foundation, a non-profit organization in Tucson that fights homelessness and poverty.
Needed items include: toothpaste and toothbrushes, lotion, deodorant of all types, foot powder, heavy sanitary pads, cough drops, sunglasses and reading glasses, multiple vitamins, coated aspirin, ibuprofen and Tylenol sinus medications, liquid and tablet antacid, shampoo and conditioner, disposable twin-blade razors, sandwich bags, laundry detergent, postage stamps, old prescription bottles and film canisters, and cotton swabs.
