Oro Valley continues to move forward on a proposal to eliminate the development review board.
The town plans to hold a series of forums in July to collect public input.
Oro Valley's development review board is a citizen panel that recommends approval or denial of development plans to the town council.
Town Manager Jerene Watson has said the board can add months to the approval time of proposed projects.
Reforms could shorten the development process by as much as 11 weeks, according to town documents. This is in addition to the more than eight months previous reforms cut from the town's development review process, town documents say.
Three reform options have been presented to the council, including limiting the board to reviews of architectural designs, and disbanding the body and putting its duties on town planning and zoning employees. If the board were disbanded, town staff would make development recommendations to the council for final approval.
In April, the town council asked Oro Valley staffers to present additional information before making the decision. The council plans to take up the issue again in September.

DRB forums
Three public forums on the Oro Valley development review board are planned for 10 a.m. July 19; 1:30 p.m. July 22; 1 p.m. July 23. All the meetings will be held at Oro Valley Town Hall, 11000 N. La Cañada Drive.
