The Pima County Department of Environmental Quality Solid Waste Division will be accepting Christmas Trees for free at the Tangerine and Sahuarita Landfills from Dec. 26 until Jan. 5.
The landfills will be closed on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 for the New Year’s holiday.
One tree will be accepted per household for residential users. There will be a charge if other waste is disposed of at the same time as the tree. Commercial users with trees will need to pay the normal fee for waste disposal. The trees will be disposed of in the landfill.
The Tangerine Landfill is located at 10220 W. Tangerine Road and the Sahuarita Landfill is at 16605 S. La Canada Road in Sahuarita. For more information check the Pima County Department of Environmental Quality website at www.deq.pima.gov or call PDEQ at 243-7400.
