The Oro Valley Police Department will begin registering people for its annual Citizen Academy, which will run from Sept. 16 through Dec. 2.

The academy will hold classes from 6 to 9 p.m. every Tuesday, featuring SWAT and K-9 demonstrations, chances to “ride-along” with officers on duty and opportunities to meet the department’s officers and learn more about its operations.

Seating for the classes is limited, so those interested and those who can attend a majority of the classes should sign up soon.

The classes are free of charge. For more information, call Officer Jody Brackett at 229-2900.
