A swim instruction business has begun a drowning prevention drive, giving free information on cardiopulmonary resuscitation, urging people to be sure their children can swim, and hoping to raise money to teach 100 disadvantaged children how to swim.

Saguaro Aquatics co-owner Marydale Moore wants people to know that pool safety doesn't end with the summer.

She would like to raise enough money to pay for 100 kids, whose families could not pay on their own, to take the eight swimming lessons needed for a child to learn how to swim properly. Children would be picked from all over Tucson to learn at Saguaro Aquatics locations.

People interested in having their children learn how to swim, or in donating to the drowning prevention drive, may contact Moore at 638-8040. Donations may also be sent to PO Box 35873, Tucson, 85740.
