Tucson area residents interested in travel and surveys may soon get their voices heard.

The 2008 National Household Travel Survey is collecting responses from Tucson residents on travel data.

Officials from the Pima Association of Governments are urging residents help the Federal Highway Administration by taking the survey.

“PAG will be able to access this information to enrich our regional travel database and promote the best possible forecasting of future travel for the region,” said Manager of Travel Modeling Aichong Sun in a written statement.

PAG is pushing for local respondents because they have purchased about 2,000 responses for the county.

To participate, go to the NHTS Web site at www.fhwa.gov/policy/ohpi/nhts/nhtsspinfo.htm.

Responses are confidential and will consist of a phone interview and the completion of a travel diary.
