Two men in their 20s died last Thursday morning after the motorcycle they were riding collided with a car at Ina Road and Westward Look Drive.

The crash occurred about 9:30 a.m. Oct. 9, according to Pima County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Dawn Hanke.

A blue Toyota Corolla driven by an elderly woman was traveling eastbound on Ina Road when it began to make a left turn onto North Westward Look Drive.

The car struck the Suzuki motorcycle, which was heading westbound on Ina at a “high rate of speed,” according to Hanke.

The car struck the motorcycle “head on,” the sheriff’s spokeswoman said.

The 24-year-old driver of the motorcycle, Jeffrey Ruben Bupp, died at the scene.

His passenger, Justin Michael Maynard, 22, was taken to a local emergency room where he later died.

The driver of the Corolla was taken to the hospital with “unknown injuries,” according to Hanke.

Both of the motorcycle’s riders had worn helmets, according to Hanke.

Authorities continue to investigate the accident.
