The Oro Valley Town Council on Wednesday night voted to accept the resignation of Councilwoman Salette Latas, and move forward with a process to find a replacement.
The council plans to begin accepting applications for Latas' replacement May 1. Interested parties can apply through May 19.
The council intends to vote to appoint a replacement council member at a June 2 meeting.
The new member would serve out the remainder of Latas' term, which expires in 2012.
Latas resigned April 1, after serving nearly two years of a four-year term.
