Pima County Economic Development and Tourism received documents last week from parties interested in building and running an indoor skating rink, director Tom Moulton said Monday.
In late August, the county sought proposals from people interesting in developing, designing, constructing and operating an ice rink at Ted Walker Park, located just south of Ina Road and Interstate 10 off the frontage road.
Proposals were due Oct. 22.
"The evaluation committee is scheduled to have a meeting here in early November to take a look at what was received," Moulton said. "The first step, of course, is to determine if the documents we received are responsive to the RFP (request for proposals). And if they are, we will start the evaluation process."
Moulton said the group responsible for looking through the documents is comprised of experts from both the public and private sectors, including authorities in parks and recreation, skating clubs, facilities and financing.
Together they will look over and evaluate the documents, taking something to the Pima County Board of Supervisors by mid-November, Moulton said.
He did not identify the number of proposals received.
