At a pep assembly last week, Sonoran Science Academy junior Tyler Robbins shaves off teacher Bill Bennett's beard, facial hair he'd sported for 37 years. Bennett agreed to the shave if Sonoran Science Academy generated $30,000 in Arizona School Tax Credits, a source of funding for school extra-curricular activities. Bennett is the school's robotics instructor and physics teacher. A Sonoran CRUSH Robotics team robot is being entered in a Phoenix competition next month.
