The Town of Oro Valley has several openings for volunteer service.
Oro Valley is looking for a town resident to represent it on the Pima County Bond Advisory Committee, and it has two openings for residents on its development review board.
The bond advisory committee representative is appointed by the mayor and council. As a member of this committee, volunteers work on bond packages for recommendation to the Pima County Board of Supervisors, and makes recommendations on any changes to existing bond packages. This committee meets a minimum of twice a year, and during bond development will meet at least once a month.
Two-year terms on the development review board begin July 1, 2009. Applicants must be residents of the town of Oro Valley.
The board reviews and approves architectural design and layout of proposed commercial and residential subdivision plans, a release said. This includes site planning and the relationship of the development to the surrounding environment and the community. The DRB meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m.
Applications for both the development review board and bond advisory committee openings are available at the Oro Valley Town Hall, 11000 N.
