Oro Valley Police arrest man suspected in girlfriend's killing

Oro Valley Police officers have arrested a man whom they suspect killed his girlfriend.

Officers responded at 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, to a domestic violence call at an apartment complex on the 8800 block of North Oracle Road. There, officers found Lisa M. Berrie, 26, unconscious in a bathroom.

Berrie showed signs of trauma, according to a police.

She was taken to University Medical Center where she later died.

Paul M. Beam, 35, also was found at in the apartment. Officers arrested him on first-degree murder charges. He is being held in Pima County Jail.

Oro Valley Police Spokeswoman Liz Wright said investigators think the couple only recently moved to the area.
