The Marana Unified School District Governing Board recognized Lacey Nymeyer, 2008 Olympic silver medalist, at its Sept. 25 meeting.
Nymeyer graduated from Mountain View High School, within the Marana Unified School District, in 2004.
She helped her team win a silver medal in the women’s 4x100 freestyle relay during the summer Olympic Games in Beijing.
“It is always an honor to recognize current and former students who have worked so hard to fulfill their dreams,” Marana superintendent Doug Wilson said.
Nymeyer and her mother were at the session, where Lacey was presented flowers and a framed certificate.
