Pima County Sheriff deputies have evacuated the Safeway and surrounding businesses at Linda Vista and Thornydale Road. Deputies have also sent a robot inside to determine if that area is safe.

The Safeway and surround businesses at Linda Vista and Thornydale Road were evacuated early Monday morning following a robbery.
According to Pima County Sheriff’s Department’s Public Information Officer Tom Peine, a person robbed the U.S. Bank within the grocery store and left a “suspicious device” behind.
The public is asked to avoid the area if at all possible.
