Three attorneys in the Pima County Attorney’s office have been recognized by the State Bar of Arizona for their efforts in the courtroom and the community.
John W. “Bill” Dickinson was presented the 2008 Public Lawyer Career Achievement Award. It recognizes retired or retiring public attorneys “who have had a distinguished career” of public service, and are identified as “models of the dedication and commitment of public attorneys,” a release said. Dickinson has prosecuted more than 200 felony trials during his career.
Kathleen Mayer received the 2008 Michael C. Cudahy Criminal Justice Award, because she has “worked tirelessly to advance the principles of criminal justice by representing the public’s interest with integrity, fairness, tenacity, creativity, brilliance and professionalism.” She is a prosecutor.
Thomas J. Rankin is recipient of the 2008 Distinguished Public Lawyer Award, because he has “worked tirelessly to prosecute those who violate the law and threaten and endanger the safety of others. … He is relentless in the pursuit of justice, the prosecution of criminals, and the protection of the community.”
“I am very pleased that the diligence and hard work of these prosecutors is recognized by the Arizona State Bar,” Pima County Attorney Barbara LaWall said. “The work they do for the citizens of Pima County is phenomenal. Their many accomplishments make them very worthy of these awards.”
