New principal selected for Picture Rocks

Pamela Beine has been chosen the new principal at Picture Rocks Intermediate School.

Members of the Marana Unified School District board voted 3-0 to hire Beine at the board's Thursday, May 28 meeting. Two board members were absent.

Beine assumes the position effective July 1.

Pamela Beine has more than 20 years of experience within public education and small business ownership, including more than 12 years in school administrative and supervisory roles.

She was a principal at the elementary level in Capistrano Unified School District in California, and was a principal and vice principal at the junior high level in Puyallup School District in Washington.

Additionally, Beine has served as an adjunct professor for reading and language arts at Seattle Pacific University, and has been a language arts specialist and classroom teacher.

Beine also owned a daycare / preschool in Washington.

She has experience with curriculum and instructional practices, staff development and mentoring, budget management and supervisory responsibilities, a release said.

"She has developed intervention programs, facilitated programs and presented at a state and national level in the areas of reading, language arts and school performance," it continued. "As a teaching specialist she has coordinated programs, facilitated assessments for K-6 settings and taught Title 1 students in grades 1-6 resource programs."

"I am excited to return to school leadership in Arizona," Beine said. "I believe there are so many individuals who play a key role in the success of a school and I welcome every stakeholder to actively participate with me in the pursuit of success for our 21st century learners."

Beine has a bachelor's degree in education from Western Illinois University, and a master's of education in reading / language arts from Seattle Pacific University.
