A wild time
Eighth-graders at Tortolita Middle School were treated to a
pizza party along with a hands-on animal presentation by Comcast,
Discovery Education and the Science Channel.
Last Thursday, animal handler Kimberly Wright brought in several
animals — a hedgehog, gray fox, snapping turtle, porcupine, hairy
armadillo, kinkajoo and an alligator.
The students were treated to the presentation and pizza party
after they won first place in the “Science Matters!” contest.
Last year, students wrote a song and music explaining why
science is important and why it matters to them. Tortolia Middle
School was one of five first-place winners in the nationwide
competition.
