Third-grade students at Ironwood Elementary School are portraying famous historical characters in an event this Friday, Feb. 20.
The “wax museum” involves 125 students at the Marana Unified School District school.
They’ll come dressed as famous historical figures who contributed significantly to the United States and/or the world, a release said. Among the characters are Thomas Edison, Amelia Earhart, Abraham Lincoln, Roberto Clemente and many others.
Each student gives a 20- to 30-second presentation about their subject’s contributions while standing next to a display they made depicting the person’s life. They’ll then resume their wax pose while fellow students “take advantage of this unique learning experience,” the release said.
