Teachers upstage students

Posted: Tuesday, September 16, 2008 11:00 pm

Randy Metcalf/The Explorer, Beth May, left, the only student in Ironwood Ridge’s production of “Sweeney Todd,” runs through her lines with math teacher Trish Ambrosio last week. The school’s drama director, Joe Borunda, chose to cast teachers in most of the roles of the ultra-violent play. The move should ward off any controversy about students playing violent characters as well as build community among teachers, according to Borunda.
