The women’s soccer team (7-5) held off Cochise College in the second half to win 4-3 on Saturday at the West Campus’ Aztecs Field. The Aztecs had four different goal scorers in the first half which gave them a 4-2 lead at halftime. Pima took the lead for good after Ivonne Herrera (Nogales HS) scored a goal in the 29th minute.
Ashley Cardenas (Tucson HS) got the Aztecs on the board on a penalty kick in the 11th. Robyn Tolin (Cienega HS) scored her goal in the 32nd while Kathy Fisher (Sahuaro HS) increased Pima’s lead to 4-1 with her shot in the 41st.
Cochise outshot the Aztecs 10-8 and Rebecca Lamanda (Sabino HS) finished with four saves.
Pima will play at South Mountain Community College in Phoenix on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
