There are few better occasions to give Mom a break from stove duties than on Mother’s Day. This Sunday, the YMCA’s Oracle Triangle Y Ranch offers to serve up the hash — rustic-style.

The scenic retreat, home to several YMCA summer programs, will serve a Mother’s Day buffet brunch with traditional breakfast and lunch fare from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed with an array of outdoor camp activities.

Nearly 300 people attended the brunch during its first go-round three years ago, so reservations are a good idea, said YMCA spokesperson Kim Wilson.

“It was overwhelming that first year,” Wilson said. “We were like, ‘Whoa!’”

Swimming, basketball, volleyball, climbing walls — and plain old relaxation — are on the post-meal menu until 4 p.m. Horseback riding is also available for an additional fee.

The cost is equal for Y members and non-members: $20 for adults and $10 for youths age 6 to 12. Kids under 5 eat free. Call (520) 884-0987 for reservations and more information.

Registration will also be open for the YMCA Memorial Day Family Camp and Summer Resident Camp sessions.
