PCC Men’s Golf in Third Place After Day One

 The Pima Community College men’s golf team finished the first day of the Region I, Division I Tournament in third place out of four teams on Thursday at the Sidewinder Golf Course in Gold Canyon.

The Aztecs (313) are 12-strokes behind first place Scottsdale Community College (301) and trail Eastern Arizona College (303) by 10-strokes.

Austin Stuessel (Ironwood Ridge HS) and Landyn Lewis (Tucson Magnet HS) finished their days among the top 10 in individual competition, each shooting six-over-par 77 on the day and trail the leader by four-strokes.

The second day of competition will be on Friday with the Aztecs beginning to tee off at 1:12 p.m. at the Sidewinder Golf Course.
