The Canyon Del Oro Dorados eased by the Marana Tigers on Friday with a 40-12 victory, led by running back Isaac Chacon’s four touchdowns and a tough Dorado defense.
Early on, a 60-yard Dorado drive put CDO on the one-yard line, which Chacon converted into the first score of the game.
As the half wound down, quarterback Leo Khawam would find wide receiver Tommy Sawyer for a seven-yard passing score to extend the Dorado lead to 12-0.
Chacon would continue his work in the second half, finding gaps in the Tiger defense to repeatedly put CDO in scoring position. He would go on to score three more touchdowns before the game ended, complemented by timely interceptions and fumble recoveries by the Dorado defense.
CDO’s Brando Eto came up with two interceptions, while teammate Alijah Cordova came up with one interception and a touchdown conversion.
Marana would only manage one more score in the game, courtesy of Davon Roebuck, on a two-yard touchdown run.
With the win, the Dorados improve to 3-6 and face Amphi next Friday.
The Tigers fall to 3-6 and face Catalina Foothills next.
