Manning is flawless as the Super Bowl bound Broncos win the AFC Championship

Updated

Peyton Manning is headed to his third super bowl after leading the Denver Broncos to a 26-16 victory over the New England Patriots.

The Broncos will face either the San Francisco 49ers or the Seattle Seahawks, divisional rivals who are currently playing in the NFC Championship game.

Manning picked apart the New England defense all day, going 23 for 32 for 400 yards. The Broncos' offense racked up nearly 500 yards, the most against any Bill Belichick.

Manning will take the Broncos to the Super Bowl in New York on Feb. 2, capping off what has been a record-breaking season for the Colt turned Bronco. The year was special for Manning, whose career was thought to be over two years ago after neck surgery that caused nerve damage.

Manning is the clear favorite for his fifth MVP title.
