Green Fields Country Day School is sponsoring a golf tournament on Saturday, Nov. 14, to benefit the independent private school's athletic teams.

Registration for the Green Fields Golf Tournament begins at 6:45 a.m. at the Crooked Tree Golf Course, with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. The course is located at 9101 N. Thornydale Rd. Cost is $100 per person, which includes cart, range balls, burger buffet and gift bag. There will be player contests for hole-in-one, longest drive and closest to the pin.

Funds raised by the tournament support the Green Fields athletic teams and provide the opportunity to participate in competitions around Southern Arizona. This year, the volleyball team ended the season 15-3 and is headed to the state tournament.

For grades 9 through 12, the athletic program includes boys' basketball, baseball and track and girls' volleyball, basketball, softball and track, plus coed soccer. Green Fields is a member of the Arizona Interscholastic Association. For grades 6 through 8, students participate in volleyball, flag football, basketball and soccer under the leadership of the Tucson Independent Athletic League.
