The Pima Community College women’s basketball team (17-15) had a quick start but fell behind in the second half on Thursday in its 58-44 loss at Mesa Community College in the Region I, Division II finals. This was the fourth year in a row Pima and Mesa had played in the finals and the second straight year Mesa has beaten the Aztecs.

Mesa hit four 3-pointers in the first 10 minutes of the second half to get up 43-31.The Aztecs were able to cut Mesa’s lead down to nine points on two occasions but that’s as close as they’d get.
