The women’s soccer team scored two goals in the first half as it went on to defeated GateWay Community College 2-0 on Saturday at the West Campus’ Aztecs Field. The Aztecs have won three straight and it was their second shutout in a row.
Ivonne Herrera (Nogales HS) scored on a second opportunity shot to get the Aztecs on the board in the 35th minute. Robyn Tolin (Cienega HS) added to the Pima lead in the 38th with her goal. Gisel Duarte (San Luis HS) had the assist.
The Aztecs outshot GateWay 21-5 and Erika Heredia (Sabino) had one save.
Pima will be back at Aztecs Field on Tuesday when it hosts Paradise Valley Community College at 3:30 p.m.
