Men's Soccer
The men’s soccer team beat GateWay Community College 3-0 on Saturday at the Rose Mofford Sports Complex in Phoenix.
Alexis Medina (Nogales HS) got the Aztecs on the board with a goal in the 25th minute. Cesar Quintero (Nogales HS) scored his goal in the 55th while Michael Bonda (Palo Verde HS) sealed it for the Aztecs with his goal in the 63rd. Pima improved to 3-2 on the season.
Ben Eyde (Salpointe Catholic HS) started in the net and had four saves in 70 minutes of play. Hector Zambrano (Pueblo HS) played the last 20 minutes of the game and finished with four saves as well.
The Aztecs will play Paradise Valley Community College on Tuesday at the Reach 11 Sports Complex in Phoenix at 6 p.m.
Women’s Soccer
The women’s soccer team (5-0) scored a goal in each half to defeat GateWay Community College 2-0 on Saturday at the Rose Mofford Sports Complex in Phoenix.
Daisy Gallardo (Cholla HS) got the Aztecs on the scoreboard in the 14th minute with an assist from Robyn Tolin (Cienega HS). Camie Barbera (Ironwood Ridge HS) added to the lead with her goal in the 52nd. Erika Heredia (Sabino HS) finished the game with two saves.
The Aztecs will play Paradise Valley Community College on Tuesday at the Reach 11 Sports Complex in Phoenix. The game will be at 8 p.m.
