PCC Men’s Basketball Show Strong Offense in Opener

The men’s basketball team (1-0) defeated Impact Academy (Nevada) 113-103 on Friday in its opening game of the regular season as part of the Eastern Arizona Tournament in Thatcher.

The Aztecs had six players score in double figures. Terrence Carroll (Cordova H, TN) led the Aztecs with 20 points and five assists off the bench. He went 4 for 7 from 3-point range. Kevin Burton (Apollo HS) finished the game with 16 points. Lawrence Pierce (Peoria HS) contributed with 13 points while Daniel Arvizu (North HS) and Rodriguez Tucker (White Station HS, TN) each added 12. Mike Jones (Verrado HS) scored 10 points.

The Aztecs pulled down 47 rebounds for the game.

Pima will play one more game as part of the Eastern Arizona Tournament on Saturday when they play the Tucson All-Stars at 11 a.m.
