PCC Cross Country Competes in Dave Murray Invitational

The Pima Community College men’s and women’s cross country teams competed at the Dave Murray Cross Country Invitational on Friday at the Randolph Golf Course hosted by the University of Arizona.

The women’s team placed fifth in the Open Division with a team score of 93 points. Sarrah Boughan (Canyon del Oro HS) was the top finisher for the Aztecs placing 10th in the division with a time of 19 minutes, 33.06 seconds.

Anthony Spendlove was the top finisher in the Open Division for the Aztecs in the 4.25-mile race. He took eighth with a time of 23:02.93. Spendlove’s finish marked him as the top freshman finisher in the race for the conference. The Aztecs did not field a scoring team.

The cross country teams will be back in action next Friday when they travel to Mesa for the ACCAC Championships. The women’s race will be at 9 a.m. and the men’s race will follow at 9:45 p.m.
