PCC Women’s Basketball Defeats South Mountain in Phoenix

The Pima Community College women’s basketball team (9-8, 5-3 in conference) got plenty of support from its low-post players in its 62-53 win on Saturday at South Mountain Community College in Phoenix.

A’jha Edwards (Tombstone HS) finished the game with 14 points and 10 rebounds while Mya Perrow-Donovan earned a double-double of her own with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Raja Moreno (Tucson HS) had eight points as wells as 13 rebounds and four blocks.

The Aztecs, who lost to South Plain College on Friday, outscored South Mountain 31-22 in the second half and picked up their fourth straight conference win.

The Aztecs will be back at the West Campus’ Aztec Gym on Wednesday when they host Mesa Community College at 5:30 p.m. Mesa ranks No. 6 in the NJCAA National Division II poll.
