Sponsors are being sought for the Marana High School Marching Band.
The band, with 80 students who perform at a number of community events and practice hard all year, needs funds to cover the costs of travel and participation, according to Blake H. Kelly, president of the Marana Tiger Band Boosters.
The MHS band travels to competitions across Arizona each year. Last year, it earned an "excellent" rating at state competition.
James Atteberry, a recipient of the Yale Distinguished Music Educator Award, is described by Kelly as the "more than enthusiastic" band director.
"We would like to make sure that no student is left behind, and that every student who wants to participate in marching band is afforded this wish," Kelly said.
Contributions may be sent to Marana Tiger Band Boosters, treasurer Chuck Nienhouse, 1200 Emigh Road, Tucson, 85743.
