Two wrestlers from Ironwood Ridge have earned All-America status by placing at the National High School Coaches Association Senior Nationals in Virginia Beach.
Scott Filbert, a two-time state champion who'll wrestle at West Point next year, was seventh at 119 pounds. Kyle Webb, a state champion, was seventh at 125 pounds. He'll wrestle at Lindenwood University.
The national tourney is open to seniors who place first or second at their state tournaments. Filbert and Webb are the first Southern Arizona high school All Americas since 1999, when four-time state champion Nick Frost placed at the tournament, according to Ironwood Ridge coach Tim Berrier.
