Members of the Marana Broncos Pee Wee football team received a special treat Sept. 28 when a trio of football players from the University of Arizona dropped by Arthur Pack Park.

Wildcats Mike Eggurola, David Lopez and Paul Vassallo came and talked to the boys, who are 11 and 12 years old, about teamwork, schoolwork, and the importance of persistence.

About 30 minutes later, they held a question-and-answer period followed by an autograph session.

“This was truly an honor and a special treat for some boys who put in eight hours of practice a week, go to school, and play on Saturdays,” said Leslie Burns, a Broncos’ mom.
