The Pima Community College men’s basketball team (6-18, 1-15 in conference) dropped its 12th in a row on Saturday as it lost to Chandler-Gilbert Community College 46-41 at the West Campus.
Both teams struggled in their shooting in the first half as the score was tied at 15-15 after the first half. The lead changed hands nine times in the game but Chandler-Gilbert hit two 3-pointers to take a 42-37 lead and went up 44-37 with 3:44 left in the game. The Aztecs came back and were able to cut the lead down to 44-41 with under a minute to go but couldn’t overtake it.
Lawrence Pierce (Peoria HS) led the Aztecs with 11 points and eight rebounds. Orlando Lopez (Kofa HS) finished with eight points and six rebounds.
The Aztecs will travel to Phoenix College on Wednesday. The game will be at 7:30 p.m.
