Kids 12 and under can fish for free this weekend in a giant tank at a Marana business.

Approximately 1,000 bluegills from the Mr. Fish hatchery in England, Ark., are being transported to a 6,000-gallon tank in the parking lot of Sportsman's Warehouse, 3945 Costco Drive.

The Arizona Game and Fish Department is encouraging catch and release fishing from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, in recognition of National Hunting and Fishing Day.

The tank is eight feet wide, 30 feet long, and 40 inches deep, and includes ultraviolet sterilizers, pumps for waterfalls, and a chiller to keep the water cool, a release said.

Game and Fish is also offering free Global Positioning System loading as well as predator-calling demonstrations.

National Hunting and Fishing Day, celebrated the fourth Saturday of every September, is an annual grassroots effort to promote outdoor sports and conservation, a release said.
