The men’s soccer team (11-6-2) rally fell short in the second half as it lost to Mesa Community College 3-2 on Thursday at the West Campus’ Aztec Field.
The Aztecs found themselves down 2-0 but scored on an own goal in the 67th minute with an assist from Yahya Kane (Al Baraka, Mauritania). Pima tied the game at 2-2 when Chase Brennen (Salpointe Catholic HS) scored off a penalty-kick rebound in the 74th. Kane was also credited with the assist. Mesa took the lead for good with its penalty kick goal in the 75th.
The Aztecs outshot Mesa 14-7 and Ben Eyde (Salpointe Catholic HS) finished with two saves.
Pima will finish up the regular season hosting Scottsdale Community College at the West Campus on Saturday at noon.
